IIT Palakkad

The Indian Institute of Technology Palakkad is an autonomous statutory organisation functioning within the Institutes of Technology Act, 1961. All the IITs are administered centrally by the IIT Council, an apex body established by the Government of India. The Minister of Education, Government of India, is the Chairperson of the Council. Each IIT has a Board of Governors responsible for its overall administration and control. The other statutory bodies are a) the Senate which is responsible for all academic matters, b) the Finance Committee which provides guidance and advice on all policy matters, and c) the Building and Works Committee which is responsible for all capital works and matters relating to building premises and maintenance activities.
